Where can you daydream more that a tree house? It’s mystic and cozy atmosphere inspired our design. In addition to this, a little stair climbing can only have good benefits on your health !
We considered that “fresh” is a word that refers to many important life aspects. From healthy eating, bio products, working out, breathing clean air, having positive thoughts, enjoying nature and being happy, “freshness” hits us on every level. Our proposal for the Kaufland Daydream bar tries to incorporate as many of these ideas as possible. The structural system is derived from those of tree-houses and is composed of wooden beams held together by metalic bolts, ensuring a flexible and easy to assemble design.

All put together, the Kaufland logo transforms itself into a festival landmark. The flexible configuration ensures a multitude of experiences ranging from a lookout point where you can gaze upon your surroundings to a fresh bar where you can enjoy your drink, multiple types of sitting spots, chillout areas, sunshaders and much more.

Democratic design process
We considered our design to be implemented using ready-to-assemble parts, thus cost savings are ensured from decreasing those of transportation, packaging and storage. The assembly can be carried out effortlessly, even by untrained people. This is ensured by specific wood joints which enable a flexible assembly process. Another perk of using this system of wooden joints is the fact that it can be dismounted and assembled in another place without damaging or replacing parts. The framework can be produced, indexed and assembled in situm just like a lego toy! Eventually it can be packed and shipped to a new location. Potential damaged parts can be easily replaced.
Although playful, our project raizes height-related safety issues. Different types of railings will be considered in order to make upper levels perfectly safe for use.
